Back in the 19th century, Powisle was a port, factory and residential district that gradually grew. Today it's a place teeming with nightlife and entertainment, with impressively landscaped space and grand apartments. We take a look at one of them, where architects from the Gdansk-based JT Grupa studio have created a unique interior, full of interesting color and pattern combinations.

The modern apartment is 60 sqm and belongs to a married couple of 40 years old, who live outside Warsaw on a daily basis. The arrangement is very interesting, there are a lot of combinations of different structures and patterns, as well as color contrasts.
Functional living room
At the forefront comes the spacious living room with a kitchenette, separated from the room by an island with a kitchen and a countertop serving as a table. The living room was decorated in a simple and functional way. In its center are set two comfortable gray sofas and a coffee table. They compose with curtains and a Linie Design carpet in the same shade. An oiled oak plank in natural color was laid on the floor, and instead of a closet, light bookcases were inserted. The lamp in the living room is a product of GRAS. The only color accent is turquoise pillows. As it will turn out later, the same turquoise will be found in the bedroom.
Colorful kitchen
A strong contrast to the subdued living room is the kitchen. Toolix hockers in an intense pink color add to the expressiveness of the place, but these are not the only original elements. Attention is also attracted by: an interesting kitchen cabinet, behind which all utensils and dishes are hidden, and tiles in the alcove. The floor in the kitchen and hallway is laid in white and blue terracotta with a symmetrical pattern by VIVES 1900 Guell. The patterns blend together, but do not create confusion. The kitchen cabinetry goes into the hall closet, from where we move to the bedroom.
Turquoise bedroom
In the bedroom, the attention is drawn to a large, comfortable bed by NAP in an intense turquoise color. Its continuation is a dark blue, low-profile paneling. Two Scandinavian-style tables have been placed on either side of the bed, while a mirror and sconces by Anglepoise hang above the headrest. The strong color of the upholstery is broken by light-colored walls and a gray bedspread and curtains. Opposite the bed is an impressive closet built in with white doors.
Small bathroom
The tiles from the kitchen floor and hallway were also used in the bathroom, and they continue with similar patterns on the wall in the shower. The small space was developed very functionally, with a recess built in with a white door and the use of bright colors and wooden accessories in the form of a cabinet under the sink and a large mirror in an asymmetrical shape, which also optically enlarges the entire interior.
