Axis Mundi Design is a multidisciplinary architecture firm founded in New York by John Beckmann. One of their projects is located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, a colorful, light-filled 675-square-foot one-bedroom apartment.
The interior surprises with its rich, highly original decor. Here we can find both the famous Egg Chair, a glass coffee table and an impressive chandelier. The creators describe the apartment as 'tres chic' meaning very stylish. A strong, positive energy emanates from the whole, making the interior exude a glow. Interesting accessories such as pillows in vivid colors, a modern fireplace and a playful rug give the apartment a simultaneous sense of comfort and sophistication.
Full of natural light, the living room appears much larger and more open as a result. An important element of the apartment is a steel staircase leading to the master bedroom located on the second floor. Its facade is covered with sandblasted glass, ensuring privacy for the occupants. The room is enlivened by a wall in an intense shade of blue.
