Two elements with simple shapes arranged in a straight line comprise the New Forest House designed by PAD studio. The house is located in New Forest National Park, in the United Kingdom. The main intention of the designers was to create a simple building whose forms, materials used, and details would enhance the character, distinguishing features, and history of this place and create a broader context for New Forest.
The residence, covering an area of 120 square meters, was created in accordance with sustainable development principles – durable, locally sourced materials were used. Despite the fact that the main efforts were directed towards minimizing the project's impact on the environment, the standard of the New Forest House is high.
The interiors are spacious, bright, and modern. There are also designer elements present. The dominant colors are white and various shades of brown. Large windows, extending from the floor to the ceiling, provide natural light.
PAD studio has been in existence since 2004. In its projects, it emphasizes sustainable development, energy savings and maximizing the use of renewable energy sources. They are inspired by nature, people, art, and music. During their work, the designers strive to establish the closest possible relationship with the client to meet all their requirements. PAD studio has been honored with numerous awards such as the Grand Design Awards – Best Eco Home, Riba Awards 2011 – South East Region, and Home Building & Renovating – Residential Design Award.
