What sets Tomar Hill House apart from other residences is its unique location - the house is located on a mountainous, forested area, which guarantees its residents breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
The residence is intended to serve as a vacation home for two brothers. Thanks to the monochromatic palette used, one has the impression that it melts with the surrounding nature. Thanks to a special roller shutter system, it is possible to shade the house for privacy or expose the whole thing and admire the landscape.
The front door is almost invisible, thanks to the fact that it is made of stone tiles, which also cover the exterior of the house.
The interior has been divided into two separate wings so that each family has a private space just for themselves. The common element is the living area with kitchen and living room.
The architecture firm Contaminar Arquitectos was founded in 2004 in Leiria by Joel Esperança, Ruben Veza and Romeu Sousa.
